Commercial Pavers Awarded Silver Line Contracts

Pro-Pave, Inc., to assist in Phase 2 of Metrorail extension

Pro-Pave, Inc. was recently awarded a contract with Capital Rail Constructors (CRC) for work on the Silver Line project, a 23-mile extension of Washington’s Metrorail system that will ultimately connect with Dulles International Airport at the completion of Phase 2.

CRC, a joint-venture of Clark Construction Group, LLC, and Kiewit Infrastructure South Co., is leading the design-build effort for Phase 2. Currently underway, Phase 2 extends the Silver Line 11.4 miles west from the Wiehle-Reston East Station into Loudoun County, Va., and will include the construction of six new stations. Completion is expected in 2019.

Pro-Pave’s work for CRC is estimated at $5- to $8-million. The paving company was similarly awarded an initial $385,000 in Silver Line work from Dulles-based design-build firm M.C. Dean, which could grow to $8-million over the next three years.

Pro-Pave’s work for both companies began on May 1, 2016 with a projected completion date of May 2019. Twenty team members will take part in the project, which calls for the installation of 13 manholes and approximately 12,000 linear feet of underground duct bank.
